LG LSM IT Accessories – Scanner Mouse LSM – LG Electronics UKI received this mouse yesterday and within minutes was scanning from large newspapers and documents and not believing what I was seeing, still can’t! COM website please follow below instructions. The OCR functionality is useful but not very practical.
You can also share in real-time through Twitter, Facebook etc. When my old computer is fixed I will have to copy files across as I can’t rely on downloading from LG.

Many use mobile devices and I will in a pinch, but if I need many scans to pull text and transfer onto my computer, it is quite a few extra steps. I wouldn't use this for images where resolution is important - it's stitching can drive one crazy. Often, I will have something in print that I want to save digitally rather it be a recipe or articles from magazines. This is the handiest device for that purpose when I'm away from home but have my computer with me.
Windows10 did not find the software for the scanner automatically but the default on LGs website works fine as of 7/3/19. I've had this for years and it still works. Be sure to have the mouse completely vertical when scanning or stitching will get off. Personally, I start from left top and work my way down. If it gets off trying to stitch, it's usually easiest to start a new scan.
I do wish it had more rounded edges on top. It looks round, but it has really hard edges when you are used to current mice. If stitching were a bit more reliable, I'd still give this 5 stars - but for its age and size, it does great.

There does not seem to be a setting for B & W scanning to achieve a smaller eventual file size. By the way, don't rely on the 'feedback invitation' to solve your queries - they simply ignore calls for help.
